Is this the best vitamin C serum EVER?

If you’ve been reading my blog, you’d be familiar with my vitamin C serum obsession. I love them because they make the skin look bright, prevent and clear pigmentation, add glow, and (in high concentrations) can heal acne too. My friend Dhruv (who loves skincare as much as I do), got me this new Serumtologie C Serum 22 on my birthday. He has been using it for months and really swears by it.

While earlier I've used concentrations of 10% and 15% vitamin C, which do have some brightening effects, real transformation only happens with a 20% concentration. In India, where we are assaulted by dust, pollution and harsh sunlight on a daily basis, we need a higher concentration of C. So while a 15% is perfect for someone in New York, it won’t work as well here. I saw the transformation in my mother’s skin when she went from a 15% Drunk Elephant serum to a 20% Obagi product. She had melasma, which has greatly reduced after using a higher concentration.

This Serumtologie serum contains 22% vitamin C, with 5% hyaluronic acid, and 1% vitamin E. Despite the strong concentration you can use it day and night. It's free of parabens and other nasties, and is cruelty-free. The gel like texture of this product gets absorbed quickly and makes the skin feel moist. You are advised to use a moisturiser on top because this serum enhances hydration, thanks to the hyaluronic acid. But I feel very comfortable with this serum alone.

I prefer this to my other favourite -The Obagi 20% Professional C Serum - because it doesn’t dry the skin. It also gives the same glow and brightness but at a fraction of the price. The Obagi serum is available in India for over 8,000. The Serumtologie serum is available for $34 plus $12 for shipping, which only makes it about 3,000 (yes they do ship to India). You can order it from here.
