Budget Beauty Buy: Soul Tree Lipsticks

Left: Java Brown. Right: Sunshine.

Left: Java Brown. Right: Sunshine.

I love luxurious beauty products. And I don’t define luxury by the price alone (although you get what you pay for). Luxury for me is also about performance, ingredients and wear. And in that regard, Soul Tree Lipsticks tick all the right boxes. They had sent me a bunch of makeup and skincare stuff to try, and being a lipstick lover I obviously tried the lippies first. And I was in for a pleasant surprise.

Not only does the lipstick glide on easily, it’s also colour true - meaning that the colour in the bullet and on your lips is pretty much the same. The shade called Sunshine has become my go-to everyday lipstick because it’s the perfect dusty rose, while Java Brown is the most flattering chocolate for Indian skin tones. But that’s not all. I wore this lipstick for dinner and it sat beautifully even after a meal. And while most long lasting lipsticks can feel dry or flake on the lips, this feels nice and moist. The lipsticks are lead and paraben free, and contain organic sweet almond oil, wild honey and organic ghee. The best part is that they're cruelty free. What more does a girl want?
