Acne remedy and skin soother: Silver
Minerals have been harnessed for decades now because of their potent beauty benefits. But there’s one mineral in particular that has slowly been gathering a small following of women who love it for it’s acne-demolishing benefits. Silver (or colloidal silver) is one of the beauty industry’s best kept secrets as far as blemish-control is concerned.
My first exposure to this mineral was when I used the Julisis Silver Wash Night (the best face wash in my opinion) last year. Just this face single-handedly helped calm down my red, reactive skin. I would wash my face with this and a drop of manila oil and apply nothing on my face afterwards. Within days, the red spots dried and peeled off. What was left behind was really clear skin.
These days I’m using the Amly Silver Rich Face Mist. It has been made with the silver-rich spring waters of Sussex, some botanicals, and a huge dose of hyaluronic acid to moisturise. I don’t have an acne-problem right now, but I do find this mist really soothing on my skin.
Colloidal silver (although neither Julisis nor Amly has the word colloidal on the label) is known to be anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-viral. Both Gwyneth Paltrow (I do love her) and Dr Oz have spoken about the beauty benefits of mineral. However there’s still much research to be done.
I for one have tried and tested two products with silver, and I have to say that they have helped improve the texture and quality of my complexion.
