Beauty on the go - totable products for every handbag

My bag weighs perhaps a couple of kilos. And most of the weight comes from beauty products. I know that I carry more than what is necessary. And even though I declutter regularly I find that products just find their way into my bag…somehow. A heavy bag can lead to scoliosis (where one shoulder dips lower than the other), which I have. So now I have decided to edit the basics every time I step out somewhere. Out goes the makeup that I wore yesterday - I find that this is the only way to avoid finding 20 or so lipstick bullets lipstick in my bag. And when I really thought about it, there’s very little we actually need, for beauty on the go. Unless you’re naturally beautiful - then you don’t need anything at all.

If you’re carrying...

  • A CLUTCH
A lip pencil + lip balm + blotting papers + a concealer pencil

Pencils take the least amount of space. And a pack of blotting papers is rather slim but keeps the shine off your face.

    Product picks:
M.A.C Lip Pencil in Ruby Woo - looks amazing on all skin tones.
Kama Ayurveda Almond and Coconut Lip Balm can also go on as gloss.
The Body Shop Tea Tree Blotting Tissues.
NYX Wonder Pencil is slim and can also be used to line the inside of your eyes.

  • A MEDIUM SLING BAG
Lip & cheek cream + concealer + eye pencil + blotting papers + perfume mini

A multitasking lip & cheek colour is usually also hydrating. Keep a concealer and eye pencil for enhancement, plus blotting papers and fragrance to refresh yourself.

    Product picks:
Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Milk Chocolate is the perfect brown for lips and cheeks.
Chanel Correcteur Perfection Long Lasting Concealer looks like your own skin.
Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Eye Pencil - a little lasts a long time.
    M.A.C Blotting Papers.
Any mini perfume you got at the duty free.

  • A BUG BUCKET BAG

A dark and a nude lipstick + concealer + powder + face mist + solid perfume + eye pencil

Literally everything you need for the day and night. Smudge a bit of lipstick on as blush - I find that works beautifully. And if you’re a mascara girl then add that too.

Product Picks:

1. Chanel Rouge Allure in Rouge Noir is the best dark lipstick EVER.
2. Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Lipstick in Coral is the perfect metallic peachy/nude.
3. Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder comes with a brush.
4. Kama Pure Lavender Water (50ml) soothes red, angry skin.
5. L’Occitane has some lovely solid perfumes but I like Diptyque the most for their beautiful fragrances and chic packaging.
6. Benefit BADgal Waterproof Eye Pencil is super dark and stays on forever.
