The Best Face Powders in my List
I have always been a huge fan of face powders. They lightly conceal imperfections, conceal pores and reduce shine. The right face powder is a beautiful finishing touch to your makeup. In fact, I feel that you can get away with just a touch of lipstick, powder and brow pencil, especially in the summer when makeup feels heavy and cakey.
However, if powder is overdone or used in the wrong shade, it can also make your face look sallow and chalky. You should either pick a powder that is an exact match to your complexion (NEVER lighter!). Or you should go for a transparent face powder. The best way to apply it would be with a brush because that gives the sheerest and most natural application. But even If you don't have a brush, pat a thin layer of powder on your face and neck. Don’t cake it on - keep it sheer. And yes, I do prefer loose powders over compacts.
Here are my favourites:
Diorskin Poudre Libre - Matte and Luminous Hydrating Loose Powder
This is so good as a face powder. It magnifies your complexion but never makes it look chalky. There is an accompanying puff with this product. The best part is the formula, which is so sheer that nobody can overdo it.
M.A.C Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder
This is a transparent loose powder, meaning you don’t need to worry about finding the right shade. This is super finely-milled and does an excellent job of mattifying and airbrushing open pores, but don't apply too much because it may take you look ghostly white in pictures.
Chanel VitaLumiere Loose Powder Foundation With Mini Kabuki Brush
I love this product because its a powder and foundation in one. You can just buff this all over your face with the accompanying kabuki brush (how great is that!) and you’re ready to go. You may need a touch of concealer if you have a severe dark circles or acne blemishes, but overall this product does a great job of blurring imperfections.
