Jo Malone Mimosa & Cardamom
Let me begin by saying that this is one perfume that has got me the most compliments. And everyone who complimented me on this scent usually went out a picked up a bottle of their own. I got this as a gift from the people at Jo Malone when they visited India last year. Since then I’ve gone out and bought a couple of bottles of my own. I love it, my mother loves it, my friends love it, but for a perfume so versatile it is also quite unique.
The fragrance smells warm, creamy, flowery and airy. It has a top note of cardamom but it’s so beautifully blended with mimosa that it’s not a typical Indian (or kheer) scent in anyway. The perfume smells so light and gauzy that one would imagine that it would evaporate and vanish rather quickly, but that couldn't be further from the truth. It says on all day and retains its original notes, even though it may smell warmer and creamier as the day goes on. I think it could be because the fragrance contains musk and tonka bean as base notes so it just tends to sort of grab on to the skin. But if i was to describe the fragrance in lay terms I’d say that its smells of creamy white flowers, a touch of cardamom, almonds and vanilla. What’s not to like?
